HAMILTON: Zimbabwe has won the toss and chosen to bowl against South Africa in the opening Cricket World Cup pool match Sunday for the neighbouring African teams.
The weather is warm and sunny at Hamilton’s Seddon Park, which seats about 10,000 people and is close to full. The match should be favourable for the batters, with a dry pitch and short boundaries.
South Africa’s all-rounder Farhaan Behardien was named in the line-up. It was uncertain whether he would start after he suffered a back injury during a warm-up match. Quinton de Kock was named as wicketkeeper and AB de Villiers as captain.
Zimbabwe chose to leave out Prosper Utseya and include Tafadzwa Kamungozi. -- AP
