Nicol David just two wins away from 4th consecutive World Games squash gold

KUALA LUMPUR: Nicol David is just two wins away from securing a fourth consecutive World Games squash gold medal after reaching the semi-finals in Wroclaw, Poland on Wednesday.

The second seeded Nicol defeated Belgium's Nele Gilis 11-9, 12-10, 11-7 in the quarter-finals to set up a last-four meeting with Hong Kong's Joey Chan on Thursday.

Joint-third seed Chan rallied from two games down to oust France's Coline Aumard 7-11, 5-11, 11-1, 11-4, 11-8 in another last-eight tie.

World No 6 Nicol, who won the gold medal three times in Duisburg (2005), Kaohsiung (2009) and Cali (2013), is the only Malaysian left in the competition following the earlier exits of Nafiizwan Adnan, Ivan Yuen and Rachel Arnold on Tuesday.
