AIRASIA will offer attractive airfares to encourage fans to watch the coming Sea Games and Asean Para Games in Kuala Lumpur (KL2017).
AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said a detailed plan will be announced shortly. AirAsia is a gold sponsor for KL2017 and is also the “Official Airline of KL2017”'.
"We are committed to sports and as an Asean airline, it is important that we take part in the region's biggest sporting event," said Tony, after the Sea Games Torch Run which ended at the AirAsia RedQ office in Sepang today.
"It is our intention to unite Asean countries. We are hoping that the Sea Games will be renamed the Asean Games, in line with the overall rebranding of Asean."
Over 800 runners took part in the 5.9km run which included Tony, deputy sports minister Datuk M. Saravanan, AirAsia X Group chief executive officer Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, AirAsia China president Kathleen Tan as well as AirAsia X chief executive officer Benyamin Ismail.
