Harman Halion sees Myanmar as Malaysia's biggest threat

KUALA LUMPUR: Myanmar are expected to be Malaysia’s main rivals in sitting volleyball at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur Asean Para Games (Para KL2017).

Sitting volleyball is scheduled to take place from Sept 18 to Sept 22 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MiTEC), where the national squad are expected to march to the final.

National team captain Harman Halion looks forward to the challenge.

He feels that the combination of both experienced and young players will help shape a formidable team to realise their dream of winning the gold.

“Our goal is to make the final and I am very confident with my teammates

“Our closest rivals will be Myanmar as they have been very strong in this competition though we hope to win the gold,” said Harman during the Kita Juara programme press conference for the Para KL2017 at a hotel today.

Harman who is 40 years old, said he took up the sport competitively because he likes playing and being part of a team

A sitting volleyball team are made up of six players with one player classified as Minimal Disability (MD) on court at any one time.
