Puzi pulled out of Asean Para Games, down with high fever

KUALA LUMPUR: Paralympian Ridzuan Puzi will not defend his men's 100m and 200m T36 (cerebral palsy) golds at the Kuala Lumpur Asean Para Games as he is down with high fever.

Ridzuan, 30, won both the events in Singapore two years ago. He was also supposed to participate in the 400m race at Bukit Jalil too.

Athletics team manager Zarrawi Ravi Abdullah said: "The doctor has advised us not to field Ridzuan in any events. He is down with fever and we don't want to risk his health as he is too weak to run.

"It's unfortunate, because he was the favourite to contribute two golds in the 100 and 200m," said Zarrawi.

Ridzuan won gold in the 100m at the Rio de Janeiro Paralympics last year.
