KUALA LUMPUR: Next Saturday’s National Sports Day is expected to be an even more joyous event with the participation of national athletes who took part in the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games and Asean Para Games.
“The National Sports Day will take place on Oct 14,” said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
“All states and districts will be carrying out activities. I have already instructed all the athletes who took part in the Sea Games and Asean Para Games to return to their respective states to add cheer and excitement.
“The national level event will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in Bukit Jalil.
“Among the activities planned are cycling, netball, futsal and traditional sports.”
The National Sports Day which is celebrated on the second Saturday of October every year is aimed at making Malaysia a ‘sporting nation’.
