DHAKA: National hockey player Fitri Shaari said Tuesday that he is ready to fly back to Dhaka, Bangladesh, tonight, as his ill son's condition has stabilised.
Fitri – who was in Dhaka for the ongoing Asia Cup – returned to Malaysia on Sunday after doctors informed him that his baby son, who has a lung infection, was in critical condition.
"As of now, the plan is to fly tonight and play against Pakistan (on Wednesday) in the round robin (of the Asia Cup). I believe Malaysia have a good chance of playing in the
final and I want to help my teammates.
"However, I will keep monitoring my son's condition and if it worsens later this evening, I will shelve the plan," said Fitri.
