Selangor sneak into final

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor made a dramatic comeback to overcome KL 3-2 in the semifinals of the TNB-Women's Razak Cup at KLHA Stadium in Pantai on Friday.

They will face defending champions Pahang, who defeated Armed Forces in the other semi-final, for the title on Sunday.

KL took the lead in the 19th minute through Norazlin Sumantri’s penalty corner conversion but Selangor restored parity with an open play goal from Fatin Shafikah Sukri in the 30th minute.

However, KL once again went ahead in the 31st minute.

Nur Syafiqah Zain pounced on a loose ball in a goalmouth melee with a powerful drive.

But the lead did not last long as Selangor bounced back through Nor Atira Ismail’s brace in the 33rd and 34th minutes from open play.

"This is a dramatic match and I am really excited Selangor qualified for the final.

"KL came close to scoring in the last quarter but we defended well.

"I hope the girls will go and play another good game in the final,” said Selangor coach Ikmal Abdul Jabar.

Kuala Lumpur coach Badrul Hisham said: “The girls played a good game but luck was not with us. We missed too many chances," he said
