KUALA LUMPUR: National divers Ooi Tze Liang and Syafiq Puteh capped their campaign at the Kuala Lumpur round of the Fina Grand Prix with a gold in the men's 3m springboard synchronised event on Saturday.

It was Tze Liang's second gold in the meet after the 3m springboard individual on Friday.

Syafiq was relieved that his partnership with Tze Liang worked well in the event.

“I managed to execute the difficult routines with Tze Liang.

“It took me a month to prepare for this tournament, I forced myself to try out higher degree of difficulty dives,” said Syafiq.

He added that he needs to keep raising the bar when it comes to routines.

"In order to challenge the best divers, I need to master difficult routines. I am patiently working on them,” he added.

In the women’s event, Kimberly Bong took the springboard individual silver with a 262.25 total.

China's Ma Tong took gold on 287.95 while Australian Kate Rosman (261.35) completed the podium.
