Izzah bags rhythmic gymnastics Sea Games gold

MANILA: Following a successful outing in women's artistic events, Malaysia opened their campaign in women’s rhythmic gymnastics on a bright note at the Philippines Sea Games today.

Malaysia’s Izzah Amzan bagged the gold in the ball discipline after her routine earned her a superb 17.800 score at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Thailand’s Nat Kulsanawong (16.300) and Filipina Daniela Reggie Dela Pisa (15.600) finished second and third respectively.

Izzah and her Malaysian teammate Amy Kwan had earlier placed second (16.500) and third (15.900) in the hoop discipline. Daniela clinched the gold on 17.750.

The clubs discipline saw Malaysia’s Koi Sie Yan winning silver on 16.900. Thailand's Benjaporn Limpanich took gold on 17.150, while Daniela (16.100) was third.
