TERENGGANU futsal team coach, Rozairi Ahmad is relieved FAM have no plans to cancel this year's Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL).
He gave the thumbs-up to FAM's decision to appeal to the National Security Council (NSC) for the futsal league to resume as this will help in the development of the sport.
The MPFL had only one round of matches on March 15 before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rozairi said it is heartwarming to hear that FAM do not intend to make drastic changes to the MPFL should the government give the green light.
"Our players can't wait to play again. We are glad to know FAM want the futsal league to go on," he said.
FAM have proposed to restart the M-League in September albeit two tournaments will be cancelled: the FA Cup and Challenge Cup.
The Super League and Premier League will be reduced from two rounds to one while the group stage of the Malaysia Cup will be crapped.
In the same appeal to the NSC, FAM also hope that the MPFL be allowed to continue.
"We hope that the format of 22 games will be maintained, not reduced," said Rozairi.
"We are ready to play behind closed doors under strict SOP."
And if possible, Rozairi hopes that FAM can continue to organise the Malaysia Futsal Cup which was introduced this year.
