KUALA LUMPUR: Junior Hockey League Division One Overall champions Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School (SSTMI) Thunderbolts scraped past their sister school, SSTMI Juniors, 3-2 at the school today.
Last season, SSTMI Thunderbolts were more convincing when they beat SSTMI Juniors 4-1.
SSTMI Juniors made their seniors sweat buckets by taking the lead twice before inexperience saw them lose narrowly.
The team scored in the fifth minute off Iyad Zul Thaqi, while the other goal was scored by Safwan Salihe in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, SSTMI Thunderbolts got their goals off Mughni Kamal (34th), Harris Iskandar (50th) and Aiman Safwan (51st).
League champions Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) Thunderbolts also had a shaky start when they could only beat Sabah HA 2-0 with goals from Danish Aqasha (eighth) and Fauzan Hashim (58th).
