Exponents to lock horns at Muay New Star and Pro Star Perak Open

KUALA LUMPUR: Over 200 exponents from Malaysia, Thailand, Afghanistan and Yemen will compete for honours at the Muay Super New Star and Pro Star Perak Open (sixth series) at Aeon Mall Taiping on Sep 1-3.

Perak Muay Association president Ezry Azamin said the tournament is intended to give promising local fighters the opportunity to test themselves against foreign fighters.

"All the fighters are between the ages of seven to 21 years gold," said Ezry during a press conference in Taiping today.

"They will compete for the Wong Kah Woh Cup in four categories - pro am, pro star, pro fight and super fight."

Taiping member of parliament Wong Kah Woh also attended the press conference.

Kah Woh said another Muay competition of similar scale will be held next year in conjunction with Taiping's 150th anniversary.
