Norliyana fails to record a jump in Hangzhou

KUALA LUMPUR: It was a disappointing outing for veteran Norliyana Kamaruddin in the Asian Games women's high jump, as she failed to record a jump in Hangzhou on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old from Negri Sembilan had undergone three weeks of training in Hanover, Germany, before the Asian Games, yet she couldn't clear any of the three jumps at the starting height of 1.65m.

Notably, she has a personal best of 1.82m and finished 10th in the Asian Championships in July with a jump of 1.75m.

Pole vaulter Nor Sarah Adi also failed to record a jump on Monday.
