Johor players do well at Tennis Masters

JOHOR BARU: Johor have now emerged as a dominant force in Malaysian tennis.

At the recent Tennis Malaysia Masters tournament here, 17 of their 19 players, products of the Johor Tennis Association's (JTA) development programme, achieved podium finishes.

Jacob Wong won the boys' Under-12 event, sweeping past all his opponents to lift the title.

It was his second consecutive win in the Masters after bagging the Under-10 crown last year.

Compatriot Amanda Teng defeated her twin sister, Audrey, to win the girls' Under-12 title.

Johor players also did well in other categories.

JTA has 50 players under its development programme.
