Larry laments being moved inside ahead of May's announcement

POLITICIANS come and go but cats steal the limelight, no matter how humans try to prevent it. This is not an old saying, just something that fits this news update.

The world, at present, is talking about British Prime Minister Theresa May's announcement that she will resign on June 7.

The announcement was made outside 10 Downing Street in London.

The address is not only where British Prime Ministers reside but also one very famous feline: Larry The Cat.

Taking to Twitter today, Larry lamented how May may not have wanted any distractions as she made her statement.

The post was accompanied by a news footage shot outside number 10, before May stepped out to make her announcement.

In the footage, an officer was seen coming out of a door where Larry was just chilling. The officer then scooped Larry into his arms and carried the feline inside.

"Seems Theresa didn't want to share her moment...," Larry posted on his unofficial Twitter account @Number10cat.

The account has over 249,000 followers and the tweet garnered over 2,500 Retweets.

In another post, Larry posted a picture of himself standing in front of a mini podium outside number 10.

"“I am announcing that I’m standing to become the next Prime Minister. If Boris Johnson is running, then people deserve a serious candidate too... #LarryForPM #YesWeCat," Larry wrote.

Johnson has been touted as a favourite to replace May as prime minister.

With Larry throwing his name in the hat, the United Kingdom may find itself in a quite a spot. Could Larry do a better job at handling Brexit?
