KUALA LUMPUR: Hermes heir Nicolas Puech plans bequeath a substantial portion of his wealth to his former gardener and handyman.

The 80-year-old Puech, who is single and childless is the descendant of the founder of French luxury giant Hermes International SCA.

He reportedly owns 5.7 percent of the luxury brand and has properties in Marrakesh, Morocco, and Montreux, Switzerland.

Multiple news outlets reported that the former gardener, who is 51-year-old, is of Moroccan descent and married to a woman from Spain.

The couple have two children.

Swiss publication Tribune de Geneve reported that Puech has little contact with his family.
