First batch of wounded children from Gaza arrive in Italy for treatment

ROME, Italy: The first batch of 11 wounded children accompanied by their family members from war-torn Gaza in Palestine arrived in Rome, Italy, to receive further medical treatment in Italian hospitals, Palestine News and Information Agency (Wafa) reported.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Italy, Abeer Odeh, emphasised that Italy's humanitarian initiative, providing treatment to over one hundred Palestinian children, should be complemented by effective measures and clear political positions.

This includes urging Israel to halt its actions against Palestinians immediately and recognizing the state of Palestine.

The number of wounded in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 67,000, which proves the savagery of the Israeli occupation, she said.

The brutal aggression on Gaza has left only 14 out of 36 hospitals partially functional, with nine in the south and six in the north. — Bernama
