Freak incident in China causes 3 people to be blown out of apartment building and fall to their deaths

BEIJING: A freak incident involving strong winds recently caused three people in an apartment building in Jiangxi province, southern China, to be blown out of their windows and fall to their deaths.

Another person was found dead and at least 10 were injured. The incident, reported by The South China Morning Post (SCMP), went viral with several recordings.

The three deceased were blown out through the windows of the units that they were living in, and the fourth victim's cause of death was not known.

A survivor named Xu recounted the ordeal of seeing his 64-year-old mother and 11-year-old son being blown out of their unit on the 20th floor of the building when strong gusts of wind suddenly shattered the living room and bedroom windows.

The third victim, a 60-year-old woman, was living on the 11th floor. She was blown out from her bedroom window, according to her husband named Wan, who survived as he was sleeping in another room.

Wan was awakened by a loud noise and found his living room badly damaged. Rushing to his wife's bedroom, he discovered she was missing.

After searching the building, Wan found her body on the ground floor. A viral video showed his wife's bed next to a window with broken glass all over the bedroom. — Agencies
