Jordanian children pack aid airdropped over Gaza for Aidilfitri [NSTTV]

AMMAN: Children volunteered to help the military pack aid for Gaza that Jordan airdropped over the embattled strip on Tuesday (April 9) ahead of the Muslim celebration of Aidilfitri, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

In addition to food, children packed new clothes that Muslims typically buy as a way to mark the annual occasion, and wrote messages of support to Gazans that were taped onto the boxes.

Secretary General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein al-Shably, said on Tuesday that Jordan and other neighbouring countries had so far carried out around 228 air drops for Gaza.

More than six months into Israel's ground and air campaign, there are widespread shortages of food, medicines and clean water in Gaza, doctors and aid agencies say. — Reuters
