Volunteers help clean up flood-hit areas in Puchong

PUCHONG: Residents of a flood-hit housing area in Kampung Kenangan, Batu 13 here received clean-up help from 40 volunteers.

The team from Pagoh comprised members from non-governmental organisations Suri Prihatin Pagoh, Prihatin Johor as well as Armada Pagoh.

They helped clear mud and debris in the area as well as at the Nurul Huda mosque, which were inundated by floodwaters recently.

"The residents need help to get back to their daily lives," said Suri chairman and Srikandi Pagoh chief Janariah Abu Nawan.

The team will visit several other areas in Selangor to assist flood victims.

"Kampung Kenangan experienced this catastrophe for the first time and we do not have many young residents to help us clean up," said Nurul Huda mosque committee member Khusaini Sarnuji.

Kampung Kenangan also received aid from the Selangor Islamic Department, Sime Darby, PERKEMA USJ, Litrak Highway and Rezeki Alam Enterprise.
