Just walk in for Covid-19 vaccines, boosters says MoH

PUTRAJAYA: Those seeking to get vaccinated against Covid-19 or get their booster shots can just walk in at any government health clinic or hospital.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan assured that there were enough vaccines, especially for those in high-risk groups, or with comorbidities.

"Our vaccine stock is sufficient and is enough for those who want to get vaccinated or get their boosters," he said at a press conference here, today.

Meanwhile, Dr Radzi said the ministry was still in the process of procuring the 2.7 million new-generation Covid-19 vaccines.

"It is still in the procurement stage, and the process will take some time.

"However, what we currently have now is still effective and can still protect the virus circulating," he added.

In June, it was reported that the Pfizer bivalent Covid-19 vaccines were supposed to be a replacement for the almost expired stock that were being kept by the Health Ministry.

Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni, during the winding-up debate on Covid-19 Vaccine Procurement in Dewan Rakyat last June, said there were 8.5 million vaccines of various brands that had expired at Health Ministry facilities and vaccine storage warehouses as of June 1.
