Passenger gets free upgrade

A LOW-COST carrier passenger had to reschedule his trip to Amritsar, India, when his flight was rescheduled twice at the last minute.

Dr Singh told Actionline that his flight from Kuala Lumpur to India was rescheduled twice, making it difficult for him to readjust his trip.

“I booked a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar with four other family members on March 23.

“Sadly, the flight was rescheduled and I had to readjust my dates and hotel bookings.

“However, after having shifted to another date, that is March 28, I received an email stating that my flight had been rescheduled, again, to March 29.”

Due to that, Dr Singh said, his vacation had to be shortened by a day.

“An officer from the customer service department offered me vouchers and a hotel stay in KL through the phone, but it was not convenient since four rooms had already been booked.

“The travel time was also cut short and I was not able to apply for additional leave with such a short notice.

“In return, I requested humbly for a free upgrade to business class for return trips rather than vouchers and a hotel stay.”

ACTIONLINE:

A spokesman of the low-cost carrier told Actionline that the passenger has been compensated as requested.

“We have upgraded all the passengers to business class as per their request.”

Dr Singh said he had received an apology from the airline.

“They sent an email apologising to me.  We were compensated with vouchers that are valid for three months.”
