AN old Nissan Sunny has been abandoned at a playground in Taman Perak, George Town.
Checks revealed that the car was in very bad condition and its tyres were deflated.
A resident, in her late 40s, said the car had been there for more than a year and no one came forward to claim it.
“There are gaps in the windows. Rainwater may enter the car and it may become a breeding ground for Aedes mosqui-toes.”
She said the car could pose a danger to children who visited the playground.
“I hope someone will remove the vehicle.”

Penang Island City Council councillor Ong Ah Teong said he had instructed the council enforcement team to tow the car.
“We will also lodge a police report so that the owner of the vehicle can trace it if he needs it.”
