Bakasa charity bazaar to raise funds for needy children

THE public will have an opportunity to shop for a good cause at the Badan Amal Kasih Sayang Malaysia (Bakasa) charity bazaar in Kuala Lumpur this Saturday.

Bakasa promotions committee chairman Datuk Alia H.M. Jally said proceeds from the charity bazaar would be channelled to the underprivileged children of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Ampuan Afzan.

“The charity bazaar is one of our annual initiatives to raise funds to help the needy.

“A variety of items, including collectibles and handicraft, will be sold at the bazaar. Apart from clothes, accessories and home appliances, food items will also be on sale. There will also be entertainment for the crowd.”

Alia said Bakasa was a non-governmental organisation that catered to underprivileged children.

“Bakasa, under the patronage of Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Pahang Tengku Muhaini Sultan Ahmad Shah, runs Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Raub, Pahang. The home has about 70 children, aged between 7 and 18 years.”

The charity bazaar will be held at No 15, Jalan Ru, Off Jalan Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur, from 11am to 7pm on Saturday.
