Customers can't get hands on KTM timetable

A KERETAPI Tanah Melayu Komuter service user has been trying to get a timetable for train schedules to plan for his rail travel itinerary.

However, Mong Yoon Weng was given exasperating answers by the staff at train stations.

“The counter staff will respond with blank expressions on their faces,” he said.

He said he was aware that in an era of advanced technology, all the information needed is readily available.

“But, sadly, I am not computer-savvy.

“Thus, I would like to know if Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) is no longer printing the timetable for train schedules due to cost cutting measures or if printed timetables have become outdated due to experiments in changes to train routes.”

A Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) spokesman said the unavailability of train schedules was due to major track rehabilitation works in the Klang Valley Double Track from Rawang to Kuala Lumpur.

Due to the current works, train schedules are affected by periodic changes.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and assure that KTMB is committed towards improving our services to serve you better.

“It is due to this reason there is a limited quantity of time tables printed for the customers.

“However, we will be printing adequate copies of train timetables for services, including the KTM, Electric Train Service and KTM Intercity services and replenish them quickly at all stations throughout the network by next week,” said the spokesman.

As an alternative, customers are advised to refer to the current train timetable at KTMB’s official website at www.ktmb.com.my or contact the KTMB call centre at 03-22671200.
