Aedes fear due to clogged drains in PJ

A RESIDENT of SS7 in Kelana Jaya, Selangor, is concerned about stagnant water caused by clogged drains in Jalan SS 7/6A.

Faizal Yusof said the drains were clogged due to work being carried out at a nearby construction site.

He said the area could turn into a breeding ground for Aedes mosquitoes if not dealt with promptly.

“We are concerned about our families,” he said, adding that residents had complained of the problem, but no action was taken.

ACTIONLINE:

The Petaling Jaya City Council said it would discuss the matter with the contractor to fix the situation.

Its public relations officer, Zainun Zakaria, said the council would also inform the Health Department so that inspection and fogging could be conducted in the area.
