LIPIS: A man's body was found in a drain in Jalan Bunga Raya, Taman Lipis here, this morning.
Police at the Lipis district police headquarters were alerted to the discovery at 8.30am.
Lipis police chief Superintendent Azli Mohd Noor said investigations at the scene found no criminal element.
"Subsequent examinations were conducted on the deceased's body, revealing injuries on the right side of the deceased's head.
"The injuries are believed to have resulted from the deceased's head hitting a stone in the drain, with no other injuries found on the body."
Azli said the body was taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital's forensic unit for a post-mortem at 9.30am.
"The post-mortem was performed by Dr Nurul Nadhirah Mohd Yusoff at 11am, with the results indicating the cause of death to be 'severe lung infection with pulmonary edema'," he said.
