Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital parking area riddled with potholes

VISITORS to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star have urged the hospital management to patch up potholes at the open parking area near the facility.

Fadil Said, 55, from Kangar, Perlis, said the open parking area at the back of the hospital block was riddled with too many potholes, which may be dangerous to motorists, as well as damage their vehicles.

“I noticed the potholes when I visited my father-in-law, who was warded.

“Luckily, it was the dry season then. Imagine how the area would look like when it rained.”

Fadil added that most visitors parked on the pavement to avoid the potholes.

ACTIONLINE:

Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital director Dr Zaiton Udin, in a statement, said the hospital had a paved open parking area with tarmac, but it could not accommodate the growing number of visitors to the hospital.

“We have a sizeable number of parking spaces in front of the hospital building.

“The parking area at the back was opened to meet the increasing number of visitors.

“However, we take heed the issue raised by visitors.

“We also realised that the number of people coming to the hospital is growing and will look into ways to provide better parking facilities for them.”
