SEA Park Apartment residents in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, are complaining about uncollected rubbish.
They are worried the rubbish at the apartment’s communal bins might attract rats.
There are also concerns that it would become a health risk.
Residents Committee chairman Annie Loo said residents wanted the local council to take the issue seriously.
“Rubbish is piling up every day. We need help.”
Loo said the communal bins had to be relocated as the bins were located on land that had been sold off by the developer to an individual in 2008.
She said residents did not have permission to put the bins on that piece of land.
As a result, she said, the bins were placed near some apartment units and at the back of the apartment block.

A Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) spokesman said the rubbish was cleared on Monday. “The communal bins were relocated to the back gate of the apartment block without our knowledge.
“We tried to collect the rubbish from the back gate, but it was locked. Also, cars parked on the roadside were blocking the garbage truck from getting to the communal bins.”
He said the garbage truck could not wait for long at the apartment and had to move to other areas.
On Monday, council workers removed the padlock to the back gate to clear the rubbish.
