TAMAN Connaught residents are upset with the rampant illegal advertisements plastered on trees, lamp posts, traffic lights and road signs all over the neighbourhood.
A resident, David Chong Kok Keong, said it was an eyesore to see so many such advertisements.
He said most of the flyers were on moneylending, property rental, transport rental and household repair.
“We can see illegal advertisements everywhere. If left unchecked, this can overwhelm the neighbourhood,” he added.
Chong said the local council should contact the advertised numbers to tackle the problem effectively.
Another resident Steve Ngai Chee Weng said the illegal advertisements would send the wrong message to youth and tourists.
He added that illegal advertisements could be deceiving.
“It seems that the local council is finding it difficult to control the illegal ads.
“The local council should seek injunctions against these unlawful ads and take legal action to get restitution for consumers,” he said.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) mayor Tan Sri Mohd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz said his enforcement officers would take appropriate action.
City Hall had previously stated that it would revoke the business licences of companies displaying illegal advertisements on lamp posts and traffic lights, he said.
If a company is found to have violated the directive, DBKL will issue a show cause letter and revoke the business licence immediately.
DBKL spent about RM3 million last year to remove illegal advertisements in the city.
