FGV gets 3 new board members from Felda

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) 33 per cent stake, as the single largest shareholder in Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) is now righfully represented with the appointment of three new directors.

All three appointees, who currently hold office at Felda, were nominated by Felda's board in its letter to FGV dated May 26, 2017.

FGV, in its filing today, identified the three as Datuk Abu Bakar Harun, Datuk Ab Ghani Mohd Ali and Datuk Muzzammil Mohd Nor.

Abu Bakar, 56, is currently chairman of Pahang State Felda Affairs Committee. Ab Ghani, 59, is Felda's acting director-general, while Muzzammil, 45, is the agency's deputy director-general (management).

Prior to this new appointments, FGV’s board members are Tan Sri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob, Datuk Zakaria Arshad, Datuk Dr Omar Salim, Datuk Yahaya Abd Jabar, Datuk Siti Zauyah Md Desa, Datuk Noor Ehsanuddin Mohd Harun Narrashid, Datuk Mohamed Suffian Awang and Datuk Mohd Zafer Mohd Hashim.

Since June 6, FGV group president and chief executive officer Zakaria Arshad and FGV group financial officer Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha were forced to go on leave, following a boardroom tussle and domestic inquiry on delayed payment by Afghan company Safitex Trading LLC to FGV's subsidiary Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd.

Zakaria had since engaged Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah as his legal counsel in the domestic inquiry.
