RM126m in potential sales secured

MALAYSIAN firms generated RM126 million worth of potential sales at the Semicon West trade fair in the United States, said Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade).

Semiconductor products were well-received at the fair held in San Francisco, California, from July 11-13, said Matrade in a statement yesterday.

“Six companies participated in the trade fair, showcasing their products and services to counterparts from, among others, the US, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands,” it said.

Matrade said the event showcased services such as communication engineering, computer and communication technology and data communications, as well as products including electrical components and accessories, cables and busbars.

“The top Malaysian and services sourced at the event were contract manufacturing from original equipment manufacturers, design and assembly, precision tooling and fabrication of parts and components.

“Others were sub-systems or components or parts, factory control or facilities, software, support products and consumer electronics or displays,” it said.

Matrade said this year marked the ninth year of Malaysia’s participation in the event. --BERNAMA
