KTM appoints Mohd Rani as new CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Government-owned Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTM) has appointed Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin as its new chief executive officer effective today.

Mohd Rani is replacing Datuk Sarbini Tijan, whose contract ended on April 30 this year, KTM said in a statement yesterday.

His appointment was made through a letter issued by the Ministry of Finance, the national railway company added.

A graduate of Northrop University in the United States, Mohd Rani was previously the CEO of KL Airport Services Sdn Bhd (KLAS) under DRB-HICOM Bhd.

KLAS has since been injected into Pos Malaysia Bhd and is now known as Pos Aviation Services Sdn Bhd.

He started his career with Kontena Nasional Sdn Bhd, based in California, the US in 1986.

In 1991, he kickstarted his career in Malaysia with Kontena Nasional Bhd, before holdings several positions at MISC Bhd, Sime Darby Bhd and several others.

Mohd Rani has 31 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain segments.

“KTM wishes to congratulate Mohd Rani and wishes him the very best in executing his job as the new CEO,” KTM said.
