Sime Darby appoints new board members and management team

Kuala Lumpur: Sime Darby Bhd will be helmed by a new board and senior management, effective from December 1, while focusing on its trading, logistics and healthcare businesses.

In a statement released today, Sime Darby said the new board will comprise 11 directors, with Tan Sri Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah re-designated as new chairman.

Among other board directors include Tan Sri Samsudin Osman, Datin Paduka Kartini Abdul Manaf, Datuk Seri Lim Haw Kuang, Datuk Wan Selamah Wan Sulaiman, Tan Sri Mohamed Azman Yahya, Datuk Ahmad Pardas Senin, Datuk Seri Abdul Hamidy Abdul Hafiz, Thayaparan Sangara Pillai and Jeffri Salim Davidson, who will be group chief executive officer.

The announcement of an additional board member will be made soon, it said.

Sime Darby said it will also focus on its trading and logistics businesses consisting Sime Darby Industrial, Sime Darby Motors, Sime Darby Logistics and its healthcare business, following the listings of its plantation and property as separate entities at the end of this month.

“This is a distinguished line up of individuals who will be able to take Sime Darby forward into the future. The board and the senior management have, between them, the years of experience and expertise necessary to take the trading and logistics businesses to the next level,” said current Sime Darby chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman.
