Kerjaya Prospek unit bags RM245mil contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd (KPMSB) has bagged a RM245.35 million contract from BU Developments Sdn Bhd for a proposed residential development project in Penang.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the contract covers two phases of the construction of main building works for the Triuni Residences of Batu Uban project, which comprises three towers of residential high-rise ranging from 22 to 24 storey each, with a total of 552 units condominium to be built on top of three level basement car park.

It said the contract further enlarges the Group’s order book and is expected to provide a steady stream of revenue for the Group over the next four years.

Meanwhile, Kerjaya Prospek has registered 35 per cent jump in net profit to RM34.41 million in the third quarter (Q3) ended September 30, 2017 from RM25.49 million.

Its revenue in Q3 increased 20.7 per cent to RM229.94 million from RM190.47 million.

For the nine-month period, Kerjaya Prospek’s net profit increased 30.4 per cent to RM96.16 million from RM73.75 million recorded in the same period a year ago, while revenue increased 23.4 per cent to RM703.36 million from RM569.88 million.

“The commendable increase in the Group’s top-line and bottom-line was mainly brought on by strong contributions from various on-going projects in the construction division,” it said in a separate statement.
