MyHSR Corporation awarded membership from UIC

KUALA LUMPUR: MyHSR Corporation received the prestigious International Union of Railways (UIC) membership during the 91st UIC General Assembly held in Paris last week.

Incorporated since 1922, UIC is a worldwide professional association representing the railway sector and promoting rail transport globally, by developing and facilitating all forms of international cooperation among members and sharing best practices.

“We are indeed honoured to be a member of UIC and being able to work closely with international industry players to be able to influence policies on issues such as mobility, sustainable development and the environment, and tackle future challenges of the railway industry together,” said MyHSR Corp chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohammed Kamal in a statement today.

MyHSR Corp said as a UIC member, it will now be part of technical cooperation amongst railways and will be able to actively participate in proposing new ways to improve technical and environmental performance of rail transport, subsequently leading to improved competitiveness and reduced cost.

MyHSR Corp is currently undergoing a three-month Public Inspection from November 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018 with 43 booths along the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore High Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR) alignment.

Additionally, MyHSR Corp has recently called for a tender to appoint the Project Delivery Partner (PDP) for the KL-SG HSR with the role to develop the detailed design and construction of the infrastructure works and assist with interface management, land acquisition processes and stakeholder engagement activities.
