TM aims 500,000 new customers for unifi home

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) targets to secure 500,000 customers to its unifi home service, after the launch of unifi consolidated brand today.

Unifi executive vice president Imri Mokhtar said the plan will be supported by the group’s marketing effort which going to be in an aggressive mode this year.

“As of July 2017, we already surpassed the one million subscribers milestone since the launch of unifi service nationwide in 2010.

“With the launch of our marketing campaign nationwide, which include door to door marketing effort, we target to grow the number to 1.5 million subscribers by end 2018,” he told reporters after the launch of the refreshed unifi brand here today.

On its public WiFi, Imri said TM plans to increase the coverage to 100,000 locations by year end from the current 10,000 locations nationwide.

This is part of the group’s effort to provide more connectivity to the public and gets more people to ride on the infrastructure.

Meanwhile, TM today unveiled the refreshed brand look and feel of unifi high speed broadband service.

It is anchored towards the group’s tagline of “Accelerated Convergence and Empowering Digital”.

The launch showcased unifi’s latest look and offerings from home, WiFi, mobile and TV.

This is following the announcement of its rebranded TV and video streaming service HyppTV to unifi TV on January 12, 2018.

Imri said TM is now the one only brand in Malaysia that offers truly seamless internet connectivity everywhere - at home, public WiFi, mobile services and TV - under one roof.

“unifi is perfecting the convergence experience to enable the digital aspirations of our customers.

“In doing so, it further strengthens our role as the key enabler in realising the nation’s digital economy aspirations as well as accelerating the adoption of a truly converged digital lifestyle and Internet of Things,” he said.

Also present at the launch were TM managing director/chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, executive director/deputy group CEO Datuk Bazlan Osman, unifi TV executive vice president Jeremy Kung, and unifi mobile CEO Moharmustaqeem Mohammed.
