Bursa CEO Tajuddin says its business as usual for now

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan has declined to respond to speculation about his position at the local bourse, saying it is “business as usual for now”.

Tajuddin said he would not respond to speculation that he will be leaving his post soon.

“Frankly, we don't comment on matters like of this. We do not have any calls or speculations in this area. As you know, my contract is ending 31 March 2019 and it is BAU (business as usual) for now,” he said when asked at the stock exchange’s first half financial results announcement here today.

“My team is straightforward and remain professional. We have a very strong team and have a duty to complete our task. We have a succession plan in place and we hope that both the company and the industry is stable and in good hands,” he added.

Speculation about Tajuddin’s post first emerged in early June, following a series of high-profile top management changes at government-linked companies after the 14th general election.

The most recent case was the en-masse resignation of Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s board of directors.
