KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) network of airports including Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport(ISGIA) recorded 11.9 million passenger movements in July 2018, an increase of 4.2 per cent over July 2017.
International sector recorded 5.7 million passenger movements with a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 6.9 per cent, while domestic sector grew 1.8 per cent to 6.2 million passengers.
On a 12-month basis, the total MAHB network of airports registered 5.5 per cent growth to 131.7 million passengers.
Overall aircraft movements increased by 1.7 per cent with international movements registering an increase of 3.9 per cent while the domestic movements increased by 0.3 per cent over July 2017.
On the local front, airports in Malaysia registered 8.6 million passengers, up 2.2 per cent over July 2017.
International sector recorded 4.6 million passengers with a growth of 5.1 per cent while domestic sector declined by 1.0 per cent with 4.0 million passengers.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) passenger movements registered a 2.9 per cent growth to 5.3 million passenger movements.
A total of 1.8 million passengers were recorded for the Asean destinations while 2.0 million passengers were recorded for the non- Asean destinations.
Asean traffic increased 12.1 per cent to 0.4 million passengers while non-Asean traffic rose 16.6 per cent to 0.3 million passengers. Domestic traffic declined by 1.9 per cent with 2.6 million passengers in July 2018.
ISGIA passengers grew 9.8 per cent in July over the same month last year to 3.3 million passengers.
International passengers increased 14.7 per cent to 1.2 million passengers while domestic increased 7.4 per cent to 2.2 million passengers.
