Sept 24: Ringgit closes slightly higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit recouped early losses to close marginally higher against the US dollar today following a rise in crude oil prices.

At 6pm, the local unit rose to 4.1270/1310 against the greenback from last Friday’s close of 4.1280/1320.

Meanwhile, the ringgit traded mostly higher versus a basket of other major currencies.

It depreciated against the yen to 3.6632/6678 compared to last Friday’s 3.6609/6654.

But the local note rose against the euro to 4.8575/8626 from 4.8607/8679, appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 3.0246/0279 from 3.0271/0304 and improved against the British pound to 5.4146/4215 from 5.4428/4501 last Friday. --Bernama
