Muhibbah Engineering bags RM205m contracts

KUALA LUMPUR: Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd has secured two contracts with a combined value of RM205 million from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and its subsidiary Petronas Gas Bhd (PetGas).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the engineering construction firm said PetGas’ wholly-owned subsidiary Regas Terminal (Sg Udang) Sdn Bhd awarded it a contract involving engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of seawater overboard upgrading, firewater network improvement and new pressure control installation project in Melaka.

Meanwhile, Petronas’ wholly-owned subsidiary PC Myanmar (Hong Kong) Ltd gave Muhibbah a contract for the EPCIC of Yetagun acid gas removal unit project in Myanmar.

Muhibbah said the local project was expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2020 while the Myanmar job was targeted for completion by the second quarter of 2020.

“The contracts are expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the Muhibbah group for the current and future financial years,” it added.
