GroYield sees higher demand for its plant supplement

KUALA LUMPUR: GroYield Holdings Bhd is seeking to expand its distribution of plant supplements that can raise latex yield at rubber plantations in Sumatra, Jawa, Kalimantan, Thailand, Vietnam, India and China.

GroYield chief executive officer Alan Chong noted that following a signing of memorandum of understanding with the Indonesian Rubber Research Institute (IRRI) last year, his team was following up on the Indonesian authority's comprehensive testing and eventually, an endorsement of its technological knowhow.

IRRI deputy director Dr Thomas Wijaya acknowledged the benefits that GroYield’s unique technology can potentially bring to the rubber industry.

So far, trees that were tested using GroYield had seen better latex yield with enhanced quality (higher DRC-dry rubber) compared with control sample of trees that use stimulants, Chong said in a statement today.

He said GroYield's plant supplement was able to cure trees suffering from tapping panel dryness disease.

With IRRI's eventual endorsement, Chong is hopeful of GroYield widening its distribution of this plant supplement to rubber plantations throughout Indonesia.

He said GroYield's plant supplement was designed to nourish trees and shrubs so that they can thrive. It also helps them resist devastating diseases, without polluting the land.

"In other words, this plant supplement is environmentally-friendly. Although the process is simple, it does require specialised chemicals, an injector system and adequate knowledge of application techniques," Chong said.
