SunCon bags new contracts, boosting orderbook to RM5.7b

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has bagged three contracts worth RM496.8 million, on track to hit its target of RM1.5 billion of orderbook replenishment this year.

Upon the award of the projects, SunCon group’s outstanding order book as of to-date amounts to RM5.7 billion.

SunCon managing director Chung Soo Kiong said his team will continue to work to secure new contracts and move forward with its expansion strategy into Asean and India.

On the new contracts, SunCon said the first award is from Petronas Management Training Sdn Bhd for the construction and completion of the Petronas Leadership Centre in Bangi with works amounting to RM310 million.

The firm would be responsible for the construction of a one-storey semi basement car park, four-storey institutional building, two guardhouses, a surau and other associated works and upgrading of ancillary buildings, it added.

SunCon said the second project award is from Sunway South Quay for RM119 million for the earthworks, bored pile foundation with secant pile and diaphragm retaining wall works in Sunway South Quay at Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

SunCon also bagged a contract worth RM67.8 million from Oxley Rising Sdn Bhd for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the electrical and mechanical and electrical extra-low voltage system.

The firm said the work is for Oxley’s proposed mixed commercial development consisting service suites, hotels, and an office block in Jalan Ampang.
