More than 7.5 million DuitNow users to date

PETALING JAYA: Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has recorded over 7.5 million registered customers with DuitNow since the latter’s inception 10 months ago.

PayNet chief executive officer Peter Schiesser said monthly transactions using DuitNow also saw a growth of 5.8 times from January till September this year.

He said to maintain the growth momentum, the electronic payment services company has introduced a brand new contest, which affords customers the opportunity to win three Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycles and 80 Borderless Alha Alfa cosmetic sets.

“The contest, which began on Sept 22, will run till end of October. Each customer is eligible to join the competition when they transfer their money using the DuitNow application.

“We urge more Malaysians to make use of DuitNow services and grab the chance to win the prizes on offer,” he said at the prize giving ceremony of the DuitNow Launch Contest here, today.

The DuitNow Launch Contest ran for five months from Jan 8 to May 31.

Five lucky winners brought home IKEA gift cards worth RM20,000.

Four of the winners were Maybank customers Wong Chieh Yie, Muhammad Nor Farid, Chan Pui Fan and Chan Hing Fatt; while the remaining winner was an OCBC customer, Thang Yit Soon.

The DuitNow Launch contest also awarded luxury gifts such as a RM1 million house, a RM1 million cash prize, RM100,000 in Malaysia Airlines travel packages, a Mercedes Benz GLC200 and an A200, as well as IKEA gift cards.

The DuitNow service allows bank users to transfer instant cash using the recipient’s mobile phone number. Its services can be used in various banks nationwide.
