PayNet promotes cashless transactions at bazaars

KUALA LUMPUR: Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has launched the Cashless Bazaar Ramadhan campaign across 46 locations nationwide, aiming to promote cashless transactions as the preferred method of payment.

The campaign targets Ramadhan bazaars in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Perak, Sarawak, Terengganu, and Kuala Lumpur, and is done in partnership with banks and digital payment platforms. The objective is to provide a seamless shopping experience for both vendors and customers.

By collaborating with digital payment platforms, PayNet seeks to encourage small businesses to adopt e-payment solutions, particularly through DuitNow QR.

Azrul Fakhzan Mainor, PayNet's senior director of commercial, emphasised that offering more payment options enables merchants to explore broader business opportunities beyond Ramadhan.

The campaign aims to facilitate over three million DuitNow QR transactions throughout its duration, promoting cashless transactions while enhancing digital financial literacy among local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Azrul highlighted the changing consumer preferences towards cashless transactions and underscored the importance of adapting to the evolving digital landscape.

He reiterated PayNet's commitment to fostering Malaysia's digital economy through collaborative efforts with the government and other stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of inclusive and collaborative financial ecosystems.

"As we persist in empowering Malaysia's digital economy through inclusive and collaborative financial ecosystems, PayNet facilitates MSMEs with awareness and education initiatives," Azrul said.
