UEM Sunrise contributes to the front line workers as well as families affected by MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd has contributed to the front line workers as well as families who are most affected by the extended Movement Control Order (MCO).

UEM Sunrise said it had roped in NGOs, a public hospital as well as the local council in Johor in a multi-prong initiative to ensure the health and safety of our front line workers as well as the welfare of its closest communities in Iskandar Puteri.

The company donated to the Malaysian Relief Agency for the purchase of personal

protective equipment (PPE) and facemasks for healthcare front liners here and

Selangor.

The items were distributed at Hospital Sungai Buloh in Selangor.

Another contribution was made to the Malaysia Red Crescent Society in Johor to buy similar PPE and other medical equipment.

The items were then channelled to Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Bahru, Fire and Rescue Department in Skudai and other front liner workers affiliated with the Malaysia Red Crescent Society in Johor.

UEM Sunrise together with its collaborative partners, Melati Ehsan Group and Pelaburan Hartanah Bhd, also funded Hospital Kuala Lumpur in its purchase of a ventilator machine.

“We understand that there is a shortage of medical equipment and protective gears for the front liners and the much-needed ventilator machines for patients.

“Hence, to extend immediate assistance we worked with two NGOs, Malaysia Relief Agency and Malaysia Red Crescent Society of Johor, and Hospital Kuala Lumpur,” UEM Sunrise managing director said Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib.

Additionally, UEM Sunrise together with Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri and the Johor Bahru district office, distributed groceries to 300 families in Johor affected by the extended MCO.
