GEORGE TOWN: Bank Rakyat has disbursed RM5.4 million to 26 eligible northern region entrepreneurs affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, under its BizCare and BizLady campaign from April to June this year.
"The fund is part of the RM300 million allocated until the end of the year for both the campaigns to revive economic growth.
"RM250 million is for BizCare while the remaining RM50 million is specifically for women entrepreneurs under BizLady.
"The door to the financial assistance is still open and we welcome affected entrepreneurs to grab the opportunity and apply for it," said in a statement today.
Through both the campaigns, micro-entrepreneurs who fulfilled the set criteria have the opportunity to obtain financing assistance between RM1,000 to RM50,000 for the period of up to 69 months.
For small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives, its entrepreneurs can obtain between RM20,000 to RM300,000 financing up to 69 months as well.
Besides this, Bank Rakyat also offers personal financing through their 'Pembiayaan Peribadi-i' product with financing rates as low as 2.51 per cent annually.
"Realising the needs of affected customers due to Covid-19, we are positive financing can assist those who need immediate cash flow," the statement said.
Through the 'Stay Safe, Save More!' campaign, Bank Rakyat also offers car financing under 'Pembiayaan Kenderaan-i' for those who want to own a new ride.
With cars now sold at lower price, Bank Rakyat urges the people to grab the chance to buy a car between June 17 and end of September this year with attractive payment rates.
"In line with its slogan 'Your Bank of Choice', Bank Rakyat is committed to offer numerous financial assistance to customers," it said.
Existing Bank Rakyat customers can open 'Akaun Deposit-i Berjangka' under its seven months and 11 months campaigns to manage their finances effectively while maximising profit.
With a mere minimum deposit of RM10,000, they enjoy a profit rate of three per cent for 11 months deposit and 2.8 per cent for seven months deposit.
