Gagasan Nadi to tender more construction projects next year

KUALA LUMPUR: Gagasan Nadi Cergas Bhd intends to take on more construction jobs in the coming year by tendering for projects worth more than RM1.7 billion.

Group managing director Wan Azman Wan Kamal said the company's tender book includes bids from the private and public sectors, including critical projects such as hospitals and healthcare facilities.

"We foresee even more demand for essential projects to meet the aspirations of the people, such as hospital and healthcare facilities.

"We believe that our extensive skill set in designing and building a wide array of essential buildings over the past 26 years places us in a promising stead in our current tenders," Wan Azman said at the company annual general meeting (AGM) today.

He said the successful outcome of those tenders would add to the company's RM1.6 billion order book as of March 31, 2021, including the current six ongoing projects and several others that will begin soon.

"The company has obtained approval from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to resume operations with strict compliance to the Ministry of Health's standard operating procedures (SOP)," he said.

Gagasan Nadi is on track towards achieving a full vaccination rate among the employees by the end of September 2021.

This will help accelerate the company's construction progress for the ongoing projects and the commencement of upcoming projects.

Altogether, Gagasan Nadi will be building more than 7,000 affordable homes from hereon to the year 2026.

In its property development segment, the Antara Residence has recorded a take-up rate of close to 70 per cent with targeted construction completion in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Selindung Ulu Yam development is 90 per cent taken up.

"We strive to accelerate the progress to recognize our orderbook and sustain prospects as the ideal designer-and-builder for affordable houses", Wan Azman added.
