AAA recognises excellence in automotive industry

KUALA LUMPUR: The Asia Automotive Award (AAA), marking its third consecutive year of recognising industry excellence, unfolded with grandeur and excitement on Nov 19 at the IOI Grand Convention and Exhibition Centre in Putrajaya.

The event brought together 300 eminent executives, inventors and visionaries from the Asian continent.

Esteemed winners of the awards emerged after a rigorous audit process.

This year's award event honoured 38 winners from 17 categories, each designed to recognise excellence in various facets of the automotive sector.

Categories included Automotive EV Excellence Award, Automotive Aftermarket Product Excellence Award, Automotive Safety Excellence Award, and Automotive Start-Up Excellence Award, among others.

The panel of judges, comprising industry experts and thought leaders, meticulously reviewed a plethora of nominations, ensuring that only the most deserving recipients would emerge victorious.

The awards presentation was officiated by Datuk Zainuri Zainal, political secretary to the investment, trade and industry minister.

Among this year's distinguished recipients were luminaries such as CIMB Bank Bhd, which received the coveted Automotive Financing Excellence Award, and Asean NCAP, hailed for its groundbreaking work in Automotive R&D Excellence Award and Automotive Safety Excellence Award.

The AAA, beyond its role as a recognition platform, serves as a crucible for collaboration and knowledge exchange within the industry, said organising chairman Mr Por Boon Kuan in a statement.

With the automobile industry leading the way in innovation, the globe is facing enormous difficulties as it works towards a future that is more technologically advanced, connected, and sustainable, he added.

The award presentation gala coincided with the Malaysia International Automotive & Parts Expo 2023, taking place from Nov 16-19 at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
